Consumer Credit Relief

The most viable option, before filing a Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 Bankruptcy, is to seek credit card help through consumer credit counseling or debt consolidation.

Through credit counseling and credit card consolidation card holders can discover the benefits of paying off their debts and move toward the beginning of a new debt free life while leaving all those past worries behind. However, it is completely up to you on how bad you want that stress free lifestyle. It is important to garner the necessary knowledge to become debt free and stay clear of that deep and dark debt trap by seeking a free credit consolidation referral service to assist in relieving debt and achieving that ultimate goal of getting your life back!

Counseling coaches consumers in debt the best way to obtain control over debt and bring their finances back into a steady state. Credit counselors are experts in the field of finance and debt and educate consumers on how they can successfully reallocate their balances, create balloon payment options, lowering interest rates, and ultimately provide tips on how to remain out of debt. Credit card counseling is a form of debt counseling that facilitates the consumer by using several tools, some of which are making contact with the creditor and negotiating lower interest rates, reducing or even getting rid of the late payment fees and overage fees, increasing the debt payoff time to lower monthly payments, and creating easy to follow and manageable payment plans to pay off that burdensome debt quickly.

Before contacting credit counseling services there are a few things debtors should do first to save time and make the process run smoothly and quickly. First, it is vital to sit down with all the most recent monthly billing statements to figure how much debt there actually is. A majority of consumers don’t actually know how much debt they have compiled over the years. Once all the billing statements are gathered a list should be created with the names and addresses of each creditor, credit card balances, and interest rates. Second, once all information is obtained and organized the consumer should contact a credit card counseling service through a reputed referral organization and begin the debt relief process. So stop living day-to-day in a pile of debt that seems unmanageable, take control, learn to succeed financially, and live debt free through professional credit counseling.

    I have 4 credit cards, 2 with approx 500.00 each on them w/ min. monthly payments of between 15.00 and 30.00. I send them each 50.00. (both store cards, 1 @ 17% 1 @ 0% for 6 more months)
The other cards have approx 5000.00 each on them with min. payments of approx 200.00 I usually can only make the minimum payment on these. (Major c/c’s w/ average APR’s)

My budget currently allows me to take approx. 500.00 each month to dedicate towards debt reduction. My question is, is it better to pay off the lower balance cards (I won’t really notice the difference of the 100.00 per month I will save) or am I better off to send large chunks of cash towards the high balance cards to reduce their monthly payments.(and then continue to pay on top of that the 200.00 @ I am already putting there.) ?
